24 killed in bus Mishap in northwest Pakistan

The incident happened when the bus, carrying 35 passengers, was about to Kandia out of Bagru of their Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

“All 24 individuals belonging to the same tribe drowned when a bridge collapsed along with the jeep they were travelling in plunged into a flow,” Ahsanul Haq, the primary civil defense warden said.

The episode occurred since the bridge that had been in a dilapidated condition couldn’t tolerate the burden of the heavily loaded bus, Haq said.

The district police chief of Upper Kohistan Raja Abdul Saboor stated: “The authorities and rescue crews rushed to the place to recover the bodies.”

“This is a rocky mountainous area free of communication centers and the people who participated in rescue tasks are facing problems because of darkness.”
