65 feared dead, many Wounded as State train catches fire in Pakistan

The fire was a result of a cylinder burst that happened in the daytime when passengers were planning their breakfast at the train. Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid said that the men responsible were a part of their Tableegi Jamaat, a spiritual entity, who had been about to Lahore to take part in their yearly congregation at Raiwind.

Women and children are among the victims — not one of whom is identified, however. The dead and wounded are being changed to DHQ Hospital at Liaquatpur. Some of those wounded have also been changed to Bahawal Victoria Hospital at Bahawalpur because of their critical illness.

Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that he was”deeply saddened by the horrible catastrophe of this Tezgam train”.

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari extended”Truth and condolences” to families of those victims of this”dreadful Tezgam train catastrophe”. At a tweet, Mazari cautioned the”catastrophe […] might have been prevented but since I can remember while traveling by train no luggage check or constraints imposed. Tragic.”

This is the next important train accident which has happened in the nation within the previous five months. In July, a railway crash in Sadiqabad involving passenger railway Akbar Express along with a cargo train had killed over 20 and injured over 80 individuals.

In June, three individuals were killed when a passenger train, the Jinnah Expresshit a cargo vehicle near Hyderabad.
