ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The clock is ticking for Governor Mark Dayton to take action on the state budget bills the Legislature sent his way. An economic development finance package reached his desk Tuesday. Governors have three full days to consider bills. That means the full budget will be signed or vetoed by Saturday night at the latest.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A $250 million tax break is expected to resurrect expansion plans at the Mall of America. The owners of the Bloomington megamall say the $1.5 billion project would double the size of the mall. The plan was developed in 2006 but remained on the shelf as backers hoped for a subsidy.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Department of Corrections will pay $400,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by the family of a mentally ill inmate who died at the state prison in Rush City. Xavius Scullark-Johnson died in 2010 after being left alone in a cell while suffering a series of seizures. He suffered from schizophrenia and a seizure disorder.
