Since the shortage of atrial fibrillation (AFib) in India makes it a significant health problem, the Cupertino-based iPhone manufacturer on Thursday introduced its much-anticipated ECG program and irregular rhythm telling attribute to Apple Watch users to India.
Available with an upgrade to watchOS 6 to Apple Watch Series 4 and after, the ECG program and irregular heart rhythm telling feature can help users identify signals of AFib, the most frequent type of irregular rhythm.
“We’re confident in the power of those attributes to assist users in possessing significantly more educated discussions with their doctors,” explained Sumbul Desai, MD, Apple’s Vice President of Health.
“Using the ECG program and irregular rhythm telling feature, clients are now able to better understand aspects of the core health in a more purposeful manner,” Desai added.
AFib may result in blood clot formation in the center, resulting in a stroke. It’s more inclined in those patients that are predisposed to getting AFib and stroke.
“It will open the doorway to get a large shift in tracking somebody’s heart health,” said Shetty.
The best way to utilize ECG on Apple Watch
To choose an ECG recording anytime or observing an irregular rhythm telling, users start the new ECG program on Apple Watch Series 4 or after and maintain their finger over the Digital Crown.
Since the consumer reaches the Digital Crown, the circuit has been completed, and electric signals across their center are quantified.
All records, their related classifications, and some other symptoms that are reported are stored safely in the Health program on the iPhone.
Users can then talk about a PDF of their results with their doctors.

In that sub-study, of those participants who obtained an irregular rhythm telling in their Apple Watch while wearing an ECG patch, 80 percent revealed AFib about the ECG patch and 98 percent showed AFib or other clinically applicable arrhythmias.
