The Czech Rail Safety Inspectorate reported the incident happened close to the channel of Cesky Brod located just east of Prague shortly after 9.30 pm local time. It stated the passenger train smashed to the status freight train.
The regional rescue agency said around 60 passengers might be hurt. The injured have been transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The significant path linking the funds with all the eastern region of the nation is expected to be closed until Wednesday morning, the Czech Railways said.
It’s the next key episode in a week to the Czech railroad network, following a passenger train collided with a freight train around the Czech-German boundary on July 8, killing two people.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
