India’s P U Chitra conducted her personal best in the women’s 1500m first round heats but that wasn’t sufficient to advance farther in the World Athletics Championships here on Wednesday.
Asian winner Chitra conducted 4 minutes 11.10 moments, a bit better than her sooner personal best of 4:11.55, to finish eighth in heat number 2 and 30th overall from 35 runners to wreck from the championships.
The top six in each of the three heats and the subsequent six quickest qualify for the semifinals.
The 24-year-old Chitra had won the Asian Championships gold to the very same paths in April with a period of 4:14.56. Her sooner personal best was through the National Inter-State Championships in Guwahati this past year.
