At least 10 killed during attack at bus into east Afghanistan: Reports

At least 10 people were killed and 27 injured Monday when a bomb hit a bus carrying military recruits in Jalalabad in eastern Afghanistan, an official told AFP.

A bomb was left at a bike which detonated as the bus passed, Nangarhar governor spokesman Ataullah Khogyani explained.

“Regrettably, 10 civilians including a child were killed and 27 were injured in this event,” he explained.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many military recruits were hurt, or when they were counted as civilians.

Nasrat Rahimi, spokesman for the interior ministry, supported the cost.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Jalalabad is the scene of regular attacks by the Taliban and the Islamic State team.
