At least seven people died in the Slovak city of Prešov following a gas explosion on Friday, police said.
Fire tore through the top floors of this building and resulted in the roof and stairs to cave.
Rescue workers evacuated 34 individuals from the construction. But one person remains missing.
Prešov Mayor Andrea Turcanova reported the city had suffered its largest tragedy in half a century.
She published updates regarding the event for her FB page and thanked individuals for the contributions of food and clothes.
“It is remarkable how many folks were prepared to help and I truly love it,” Turcanova composed on Facebook.
Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini stated in a social networking article that $1 million in support is available for families impacted by the fire.
He added that individuals could add to the campaign through official connections on the town and authorities site. He cautioned people not to be tricked by contribution scams.
