Belgium’s Prince Joachim contracted COVID-19 after attending a celebration in Spain which broke lockdown rules, the Belgian Royal Palace has verified.
Prince Joachim, who’s tenth in line to the throne, said he”deeply regrets” his activities which he”will take the consequences”.
“I want to apologize for not having admired all of the quarantine steps during my excursion. In such tough times, I didn’t mean to offend or disrespect anybody,” he added.
Spanish authorities have started an investigation of the celebration with all the young royal facing a fine up to $10,000.
Then he attended a celebration which exceeded the allowed variety of attendees lockdown principles in the Andalusian region, in southern Spain, prohibit parties of over 15 individuals.
