China on Sunday reported 35 more deaths against the new coronavirus, taking the toll from the nation to 2,870.
The amount is lower compared to 47 deaths reported by the Chinese government on Saturday.
The National Health Commission reported 573 brand new infections, bringing the entire number of instances in southern China to 79,824.
While in the hundreds, the figure for new diseases is much lower compared to huge, daily growth in cases China was recorded in January and February.
All but one of the 35 deaths were in Hubei province, whose capital Wuhan is the epicenter of the epidemic.
The new coronavirus, that has killed nearly 3,000 people and infected over 86,000 in many nations, is thought to have first appeared late last year at a Wuhan marketplace that sold wild creatures.
