It is a problem that restauranters have been scratching their heads about: the way to re-open to diners and keep protected amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
1 place in Amsterdam believes it may have discovered a solution.
Mediamatic Biotoop, an art center in the town, is placing outdoor diners in miniature greenhouses in bidding to adhere to societal bookmarking guidelines.
The tiny greenhouses were constructed within an art project. But today they’ve been turned into private dining areas.
Waiting staff wear protective gear and serve food on long wooden boards. The greenhouses will hold a max of 2 individuals.
Willem Velthoven, manager of the art center, stated the COVID-19 catastrophe had compelled restaurants to”rethinking hospitality”.
“Being together in massive groups will likely be out of vogue for some time, but coming into a social situation and enjoying things together is something which we long for much more,” explained Velthoven.
The center held a test occasion before this month and is thinking about utilizing the greenhouses again on 21 May and 27 June.
