Coronavirus: Malta closes any Pubs including nightclubs

Police in Malta has ordered the closure of clubs and pubs to stem a fresh coronavirus epidemic on the island.

The measure will come into force on Wednesday, Health Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne declared on Monday.

Discos, night pubs, concert halls, and sports clubs might need to shut their doors until further notice, but restaurants and stores stay open, while people parties stay limited to 15 individuals.

“These steps are based on the principle of social bookmarking. We believed they needed to be strengthened in many regions”, clarified the Manager of Health, Charmaine Gauci.

The amount of COVID-19 instances has always increased during the previous month.

You will find present 607 active instances in Malta, nearly half of the entire number of diseases recorded because the epidemic broke out to the island on March 7.

Many people have died and two are now hospitalized in intensive care.

A resort celebration along with also a traditional village meal was identified as potential sources of this outbreak.
