And the president seems to have declassified the puppy’s title: Conan. That’d remained a military secret due to the classified nature of the assignment where Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi expired.

In announcing the visit, Trump again posted a modified picture of him introducing a trophy to the puppy. The Daily Wire had generated the picture by taking an Associated Press photograph of a genuine medal demonstration by Trump and substituting the individual receiver with the puppy hero.

Gen. Frank McKenzie, that directs U.S. Central Command, told colleagues that the dog was hurt as it came in touch with all the wires as it chased al-Baghdadi at a tunnel under a chemical in northwestern Syria.

McKenzie said the dog has functioned with special operations forces for four decades and participate in about 50 assignments. He explained such functioning dogs are”crucial members of our drives “

The picture was derived from a photograph taken at a 2017 East Room ceremony to present retired Army medic James McCloughan together with all the Medal of Honor for saving the lives of 10 men during the Vietnam War. The Medal of Honor has become the most prestigious military decoration awarded to U.S. support associates.
