French President Emmanuel Macron will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on Sunday, Macron’s office has stated.
Macron will speak with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, then together with the chancellor, before a dinner attended by witnesses and players of this collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the announcement released on Thursday said.
The assembly is going to be an event to”reflect on the heritage of 1989 and also the significance of the European project, highlighting the value of the Franco-German couple,” it stated.
Macron cautioned fellow European nations on Thursday that NATO is perishing due to American unpredictability under President Donald Trump, an opinion quickly refused by Germany.
Macron used”extreme words” when he explained NATO as having a”brain death”,” Merkel said on Thursday, stating that wasn’t her opinion.
