Erdogan says Greece will Cover a’heavy price’ when it Strikes Turkish Boats in Mediterranean

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Greece will cover a”heavy price” if it strikes Turkish boats searching for gas and oil at the Mediterranean.

Tensions flared between Ankara and Athens earlier this week when Turkey sent a boat to research drilling sites in contested waters.

France has entered the fray, fostering its naval presence in the region and calling for sanctions against Turkey. Erdogan has requested Germany’s Angela Merkel and the best EU officials to help diffuse tensions and EU Foreign Ministers will discuss the situation in a digital assembly Friday afternoon.

She informed Euronews the problem is becoming rather hard to deal with, especially as more countries become involved.
