Federal judge blasts Barr for’misleading’ Remarks on Mueller report

Walton centered on Barr’s first statement– until the report has been released in complete — which Mueller’s staff didn’t discover that anybody on the Trump campaign conspired with Russian attempts to meddle in the election. The judge stated Barr left out that the report identified connections between members of this Trump effort and individuals linked to the Russian authorities.

Barr’s”lack of candor,” Walton wrote in a 23-page judgment, calls into question the trustworthiness of Barr and the Justice Department in creating redactions into the report. Because of this, Walton ordered government attorneys to provide him the comprehensive report so he could evaluate whether the substance has been correctly discharged out.

Barr has defended his handling of this report, such as his choice to create its most important decisions public before the complete record was published. Walton stated Barr”could be praised for his attempt to expeditiously launch a summary.”

However, Walton said he believed if Barr’s intent”was to make a one-sided narrative about the Mueller report”

A Justice Department spokeswoman said the department would not have any comment on Walton’s judgment.
