1 man was killed after a fire broke out on Saturday in a Moscow hospital treating patients infected with the new coronavirus, the police said.
The hospital, situated in northwestern Moscow, was designated by the police as one of those health care centers treating coronavirus patients at the Russian capital.
The emergency ministry advised the RIA news agency the blaze erupted in an individual’s room, without giving additional information. The flame has been set out, the police said.
Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, composed on Twitter that patients were evacuated and could be moved to other associations.
Moscow and various areas have been on lockdown since late March to stem the spread of this coronavirus, which has so far infected almost 200,000 people and caused over 1,800 deaths in Russia.
Over fifty percent of the nation’s cases and deaths are recorded in Moscow, a sprawling town of 12.7 million.
