If Mario Draghi needed a standing ovation in his farewell ceremony, Christine Lagarde’s first official day in the ECB was overshadowed by protests.
Protestors said they need the bond-buying coverage to become transparent and also to go differently, and that’s to set climate-oriented objectives.
Setting her up priorities in the European Parliament hearings Christine Lagarde said: “Climate change is among the most pressing international challenges confronting society today. My personal opinion is that any association needs to have climate change threat and protection of the environment in the heart of the comprehension of the assignment.”
