A Florida congressman could not conceal his concern because of the coronavirus outbreak.
“If anybody will get coronavirus it is going to be the folks on the ground,” Gaetz told reporters later, still wearing the gas mask.
We fly throughout the dirtiest airports, we all touch everybody we meet”
He tweeted a picture of himself reviewing a sheet of paper when wearing the headgear before the vote.
Gaetz’s decision wasn’t by the government’s recommendations. U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams tweeted a week, “Seriously individuals — STOP BUYING MASKS! They aren’t effective in preventing the public from grabbing #Coronavirus.”
Gaetz was one of the Republican lawmakers briefed about the virus by Pence before the vote.
It is not clear how successful his defense was. Rep. Pete Gallego, a Democrat from Arizona, advised Gaetz that he was not wearing the headgear correctly and helped him to fix it in exactly what Gallego known as a second of”bipartisanship.”
Gaetz noted that Gallego understood the right way to use it since” he is a Marine.”
Rep. Paul Mitchell, R-Mich., was not as considerate. “Mitchell failed to pay the air intake gap,” Gaetz said.
Gaetz said that he had been permitted to put on the mask onto the ground since”there are provisions from the House rules which allow medically necessary headgear.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D.-Calif, did not seem amused when she discovered about the stunt. “I did not even know he was doing that however they advised us to not put on masks,” Pelosi said.
