Five children have been found dead at an apartment in a western German town on Thursday, and their mom is suspected of murdering them, police said.
The bodies have been located in Solingen, near Cologne and Duesseldorf.
The 27-year-old mum of the 3 women and two boys afterward jumped in front of a railway in Duesseldorf and has been taken into a hospital with injuries, police spokesman Stefan Weiand told reporters.
The dead women were ages 1, 3, and 2, and the boys were 8 and 6, German news agency DPA reported.
The mum’s first child, an 11-year-old boy, lived and was with family members.
There were no immediate details on the source of death or potential rationale.
The bodies were discovered after the children’s grandmother, who resides 60 km (37 miles) away, informed authorities on Thursday afternoon, said the area’s top safety officer, Herbert Reul.
