Google’Takeout’ tool Experiences glitch, sends videos to strangers

Last updated on February 5, 2020

Google on Tuesday reported that a program glitch led to some Photo program smartphone movies being given to the wrong men and women.

“We are extremely sorry that happened,” Google stated in response to an AFP inquiry.

“We fixed the underlying problem and have run a comprehensive evaluation to help stop this from happening again.”

“These users might have obtained either an incomplete video or archive — not photographs — which weren’t theirs,” Google said.

Google Takeout is a tool meant to make it easy for people to get copies of the information from cloud-hosted services like email or storage of photographs and videos.

Takeout has been meant to provide individuals with an effortless method to purge their private data from internet services. In cases like this, however, the insect delivered videos into the wrong men and women.
