Housefull 4, starring Akshay Kumar along with an ensemble cast, opened nicely from the pre-Diwali weekend.
As per a report on Box Office India, Housefull 4 started with approximately Rs 19 crore, that’s the 2nd most significant humor debut ever after Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again. That picture had started to Rs 30 crore around the same Diwali window in 2017.
The movie has also established the maximum opening at the Housefull franchise since the previous installment, Housefull 3, had started at Rs 15 crore at 2016.
Film commerce analyst Girish Johar had informed Hindustan Times before the movie’s launch, “Traditionally, the film business remains dull before Diwali as the people today continue being busy with all the preparations for the festival. The company will be somewhat tight at the pre-Diwali weekend however if the movies are great, they may benefit from the next week that also comprises the Govardhan Puja and the Bhai Dooj vacations”
Meanwhile, another two movies fought day one. Based on early estimates, Made in China listed a launch of approximately Rs 1 crore while Saand Ki Aankh gathered just around Rs 50 lakh on Friday.
Speaking about the display counts of those 3 movies, Girish had previously said that Housefull 4 could be published in about 3,500 displays whereas Produced in China and Saand Ki Aankh had approximately 1500 and 1000 screens each. “Housefull 4 will certainly direct at the box office whereas another two could bank on the word of mouth. But finally the greater movie one of them will cause the times ahead,” he’d said.
