Belarus’s President Alexander Lukashenko should possess the confidence to call new elections, his counterpart in Ukraine has stated.
President Volodymyr Zelensky advised Euronews within a private interview to be broadcast Tuesday that if he had been at the Belarusian leader’s location he’d”certainly” maintain the vote at 1 month — and then invite overseas groups to celebrate it.
“Let us imagine that I’m convinced about myself, I’m confident in the people’s vote, which I’m a positive individual. How do I calm down everyone?” He explained.

“I’d encourage everybody, all international observers, all of these.”
The Ukrainian leader’s remarks came after the European Union and other Western nations said they failed to recognize the consequence of the August 9 presidential elections, which gave Lukashenko 80 percent of their vote.
Supporters of opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya assert she was the real victor. Official figures gave her only 10%. She has returned to Lithuania, saying she fears for her safety.
