Japan says did Not compromise a Lot in trade talks with US

Japan’s top government spokesman said on Monday that he didn’t believe Tokyo had compromised a lot in trade discussions with the United States.

“Negotiations have been penalized according to a joint statement both states agreed on last September,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a news conference.

Suga declined to comment when asked if there was a chance the United States could impose additional tariffs on Japanese cars.
