The Football League (EFL) is exploring Liverpool to figure out whether the Premier League club possibly fielded an ineligible player in its own third-round League Cup victory over MK Dons on Wednesday. Potential sanctions can include a fine or Liverpool being eliminated from the contest. The identification of the participant in question wasn’t disclosed.
“We’re considering the matter,” an EFL spokesman said.
Manager Jurgen Klopp fielded four teens at the beginning line-up for its third-round battle.
“The team knows of a possible administrative problem of one of our players,” that a Liverpool spokesman said.
“We’re working together with the relevant authorities to establish the details of the issue and will probably be making no additional comment until this procedure is complete”
