It comes as the State Department declared that products in the settlements could be labeled “Made in Israel.”
Pompeo also declared that the US would brand the global Palestinian-led boycott movement against Israel as”anti-Semitic”, and pub any groups connected to it by getting government funding.
It wasn’t immediately clear which groups could be impacted by the movement.
Hall Gardner, professor of International Politics at the American University of Paris, told Euronews the Trump government is”for the first time assessing US policy and legitimizing the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the Golan Heights.”
“There are several factors at play,” he added. “Along with legitimizing the settlements”, the US is”legitimizing the goods manufactured in the settlements, so they may be marketed in the American marketplace since made in Israel.”
However, the movement of the Trump government is based on Gardner also geared toward grabbing the”white Evangelical vote” from the”2 senator races which are still standing at the United States”.
