Nagorno-Karabakh: Heavy fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan over contested Area

Armenia and Azerbaijan said heavy fighting is ongoing in their battle over the separatist land of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Struggling that began September 27 is a number of the worst to frighten Nagorno-Karabakh and because of the conclusion of a 1994 warfare which left the area in Azerbaijan under the hands of ethnic Armenian forces.

Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry denied any planes being removed and stated Armenian employees had shelled civilian land. Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev started his nation’s military”increased the flag” from the village of Magic.

Nagorno-Karabakh officials have stated over 150 servicemen in their side have been murdered up to now. Azerbaijani authorities have not given details in their army casualties but stated 19 civilians were murdered and 55 more injured.

Vahram Poghosyan, a spokesman for Nagorno-Karabakh’s president, maintained Saturday about Facebook that intelligence information revealed some 3,000 Azerbaijanis have died in the fighting but didn’t provide specifics.

It maintained independence from Azerbaijan in 1991, roughly three months before the Soviet Union’s collapse.

From the time the war ended in 1994, Armenian forces not held Nagorno-Karabakh itself but large areas away from the land’s proper borders, such as Magic, the village Azerbaijan asserted to have obtained Saturday.

Many United Nations Security Council resolutions have called for withdrawal in these regions, which the Armenian forces have ignored.

Aliyev stated in a television interview that the Armenians should withdraw from these areas before the most recent fighting will stop.

From the meeting with Al Jazeera, a transcript of which was dispersed Saturday from the presidential press office, Aliyev criticized that the so-called Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, that has attempted to mediate a settlement of this Nagorno-Karabakh dispute.

1 reason for the present fighting is that”the mediators don’t insist or apply pressure to begin implementing the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council,” he explained.

“We don’t have any time to wait for another 30 decades. The conflict has to be solved now.” Aliyev stated.

Allied fighters

Armenia has repeatedly maintained over the last week that Turkey sent Allied fighters into Azerbaijan and the Turkish army is helping Azerbaijan’s.

“Turkey and Azerbaijan are chasing not just military-political objectives,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian said Saturday in a speech to his country. “Their aim would be Armenia, their aim is a continuation of the genocide of Armenians.”

Some 1.5 million Armenians died in mass killings in Ottoman Turkey starting in 1915, in which Armenia and a lot of different nations have branded a genocide. Turkey firmly rejects that phrase, contends the entire number of sufferers is inflated, and states that the deaths were the effect of civil war.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry released a statement Saturday alleging that tens of thousands of ethnic Armenians from overseas were being set up or recruited to struggle for Armenia.

“Armenia and Armenian diaspora organizations maintain global legal accountability for organizing those terrorist actions,” the announcement said.
