The entire Eagle Lake Elementary School watched in awe as a groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new addition to the school.A year ago, citizens approved a bond referendum authorizing the improvements... that include adding more classrooms, a computer lab, and expanding the cafeteria.Members of the Mankato Area Public School District along with Paulsen Architects explained to students the importance of having a new place to learn.Ginnette Kearney says, "We have no space, right now we have students meeting in hallways with they're reading groups, meeting in every little foyer and entry way we can find....Having the space now for students to learn in an environment contusive to learning, that's quiet and they can concentrate on what they're doing... is going to be wonderful."The addition is expected to be finished by the 2010-2011 school year.
