Gusties Host Soccer Camp

Over a hundred and ninety kids are taking part in Gustie Soccer Camp. It's the 19th year the Gusties have held such a camp.Soccer players from all over the area, even a couple from Mexico, are participating in this week long camp.Today the focus was on solid attempts on goal and hustling as the players took shots then had to hustle back and defend their own goal. But the camp focuses on every skill needed in the sport, promotes hard work as well as giving the campers the opportunity to learn from those playing the sport at the next level.Mike Stehlik says, "Who can really work with the kids and create in them a drive to get better and also show them its something you can do for the rest of your life."Campers seem to love the camp and keep coming back year after year.Thomas Wavrin says, "I have fun playing soccer and fun all around."Morgan Osborne says, "Just the way the ball moves on your feet and when you get a goal it just feels so good or when you make a good pass it just all connects together."Hans Johnson says, "Mostly individual ball skills know what to do when you got the ball just game situations."The recent success of the United States in the Confederation Cup has coaches happy were the sport is and where it is going moving forward.
