Good evening, I'm Dion Cheney.And I'm Nicole Winters.Thanks for joining us.Partners for Affordable Housing receive approval from the Mankato City Council to relocate Theresa House.And organizers say it comes at a perfect time for the Mankato community.News 12's Ryan Gustafson has the story.An emergency shelter for Mankato's homeless now has a new home itself.Theresa House, which currently uses a facility donated by The Sister of Notre Dame and St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, will take up residence in the old MGA Graphics building on 215 Maxfield Avenue.Pam Bartholomew says, "It's time for us to get our own permanent facility and it's something we've been talking about for quite some time because we do need to become handicap accessible."The new Theresa House will feature ten bedrooms, office space and several amenities.Including an eventual playground for the kids.Pam Bartholomew says, "It'll be a safe area for the kids to play and it will give volunteers in the community an opportunity to come in and work with our homeless families."Partnership for Affordable Housing sees the numbers of their potential market growing with the downturn in the economy.Pam Bartholomew says, "We serve single women and homeless families primarily. And more people are looking for affordable housing. But what's happened particularly in our area, with the amount of foreclosures.
