City officials cut the ribbon on a new hospital in Owatonna this evening.The new facility is a partnership of the Owatonna Clinic and the Owatonna Hospital.It's located on the northwest side of the city... about three miles away from the old site.Owatonna's new hospital will bring new amenities and state-of-the art health care to Steele County.It's the result of two formerly competing entities - Allina Hospitals and Mayo Health Systems.David Albrecht says, "we are able to solve our problems for the betterment of patient care. We work processes across both entities and really the patient is the beneficiary having a great experience".The new hospital will have electronic medical records, same-patterned operating rooms and exam rooms in the emergency department, and a heli-pad.Patients will be moved from the old hospital to the new one next Friday morning.
