Benefit Held For Former Mankato Police Commander Battling Cancer

Hundreds came to the Kato Ballroom today for the "Fight Like a Girl" benefit held for a former Mankato Police Commander.Anna Walsh served on the force for nineteen years and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last June.She is currently receiving chemotherapy and today an overwhelming number of people came to show their support.Anna Walsh says, "The encouragement, the kind words and thoughts and prayers that are out there for me everyday, I feel them , I need them, I just thank everybody for everything that's been done."Members of the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance organization were also at the benefit to raise awareness about ovarian cancer.
