Congressman Tim Walz wants the state to end its ban on building nuclear power plants.The Democratic Walz joined Republican Erik Paulsen at the State Capitol this morning and called on Minnesota state lawmakers to repeal the Minnesota nuclear moratorium.A 1994 State Statute prevents the Public Utilities Commission from authorizing construction of new nuclear facilities.Neither Congressman has a nuclear plant in his district.Minnesota's existing nuclear plants are near Red Wing and Monticello.
