Fans pushing for a stadium solution for the Minnesota Vikings headed to Saint Paul to rally outside the capital. At least one representative from Southern Minnesota is seeing a definite need for legislators to talk about it.News 12's Erick Lind spoke with Senator Julie Rosen about the impact she believes losing the team could have.Guys, Senator Rosen says as Vikings fever has grown this year, she's starting to hear more and more from constituents on what the state is planning to do.Senator Rosen says, "Is there talk about the Vikings this year? There's enough information out there for them to know that we are very seriously on the cusp of losing a major sports team."Senator Rosen says the Governor will have to start paying attention as more concern grows. She says there are legislator proposals that will surface soon and need to be looked at seriously.Senator Rosen says it doesn't necessarily mean the state has to fund a stadium. She says there are plenty of creative ways out there to help fund a stadium, constituents just have to make sure their representatives know. She says it would be crucial to get a stadium deal in place, to create jobs to help out of some of the state deficit.Senator Rosen says, "To me it would be like losing Target and they move their corporation, or 3M and they move their corporation, because they could not get the state of Minnesota to be a willing partner in any realm or even to listen, and that's how I view this Viking situation right now."Senator Rosen says the issue will definitely bring both sides of the aisle together. She also thinks that the best way to get the stadium done will be through partners coming together, but she thinks it can get done.Senator Rosen says, "I am hopeful, and I'm going to work hard at making the time and making these discussions happen but I do think it has to be facilitated through the Governor's office and then have it come from that direction to start accumulating some of these people."Senator Rosen says she has even more interest because of the importance the Vikings play to the Mankato area for training camp as well.Live in the Newsroom, Erick Lind, News 12.
