Helping the growing number of Americans without health insurance is the goal on Capital Hill...but how to do that is still up for debate.Senators held a couple of procedural votes this morning -- moving the bill closer to final passage.But -- some Republicans are crying foul. They're not happy about the way the Democratic leadership is getting some of their colleagues to support the bill.CBS News Correspondent Joel Brown reports from Washington.Democrats inched a few steps closer -- to passing the health care reform plan.(NAT) -They held a series of votes first thing this morning... And there are three more ahead of them before they're finally finished. That could take until late in the day on Christmas Eve. As the debate drags on tempers have risen. HARRY REID / D - MAJORITY LEADER) - "IT'S TIME THAT WE FIGURE OUT A WAY TO LEAVE HERE LEAVE HERE IN A PEACEFUL NATURE."Republicans are still fighting to block the bill.(08.36.55 / SOT: SEN. KAY BAILEY HUTCHISON / R - TEXAS) - "WHAT HAS GOTTEN INTO THE PEOPLE IN CONGRESS THAT ARE VOTING FOR THIS BILL?"(STANDUP BRIDGE: Joel Brown / CBS NEWS / CAPITOL HILL) - "several Republicans are outraged about parts of the final bill. Certain Senators were given special provisions in the reform plan -- in exchange for voting yes."(GFX / VIDEO - DOZIER)Nebraska Democrat Ben Nelson agreed to support the bill -- after he won 100-million dollars in medicaid funding for his state. Plus -- a promise that the federal government would pay for future medicaid expansion.Louisiana's Mary Landrieu secured up to 300-million dollars in medicaid payments for 'her' state.And -- Medicare advantage members in Florida will get financial help, thanks to an amendment won by Senator "Bill" Nelson.(GFX / VIDEO OUT)(SOT: SEN.
