The city of Mankato has narrowed its list of contenders to replace Jerry Huettl as director of Public Safety.The Mankato Joint Civil Service Commission, in conjunction with the city manager's office, sifted through over 40 applications before settling on four semi-finalists:James Coan, currently Chief of Police in Whitewater, Wisconsin.Shaun LaDue, Police Chief in Owatonna.Todd Miller, a private consultant with over 32 years of experience in municipal government in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Texas.And Anthony Paetznick... Deputy Fire Chief for New Brighton, Minnesota.All four candidates will be in Mankato February 18-19 for the next phase of the hiring process.
