A new study finds more and more Minnesotans are going without health insurance.Mankato's Open Door Health Center says throughout 2009, 42 percent of the patients they say were uninsured, and around 49 percent were at the poverty level or below.With or without insurance clinic, representatives say it's important to be seen for preventative care, or as soon as symptoms of an illness appear.Dr. Wernsing says, "It really keeps them from having worse problems down the line and it keeps them from having to go to the emergency room or into an urgent care where the price could be much higher and the problem could be worse in fact, life threatening, it's much better to get the care ahead of time.Open Door Health Center accepts a number of different insurance companies, but will also work with patients who aren't insured to make sure everyone receives care.
