The survivor of a deadly pedestrian accident files a civil suit against the driver of the car that struck her and a friend.The accident happened back in 2007.Then 17 year old Jesse Mann was driving the car which hit Corinne Overstake and 22 year old Rissa Joan Amen-Reif.Amen Reif was killed but Overstake survived although her injuries were critical.Now Overstake is suing Mann and the owner of the vehicle, his father.The civil complaint states Overstake sustained serious injuries as a result of the carelessness and negligence of Mann, but Mann's attorney says his client was not the cause of the accident.Kenneth White says, "They found that there was nothing he could have done different to avoid the accident and as a result found that he was not responsible for the accident...it is as I said before a tragic accident."Overstake is suing for a minimum of 50 thousand dollars.We'll have more on this story at 6:00 on News 12.
