Dems Propose 50 Million Dollar Jobs Bill

Minnesota Senate Democrats are proposing a 50-million dollar bill aimed at putting people back to work.According to one report -- about half the people who work in construction in the state...lost work -- which equals to about two-hundred-thousand people.Senate democrats believe their bill will help put thousands back to work.The proposal calls for tax cuts for companies rehabbing historic buildings.It also allows local governments to use some of the money on green projects.METZEN says, "This is a jobs bill. No matter what party you're with or if you're with business, and labor and business or whatever, um, this has got to get done."SALTZMAN says, "We are working with the governor, with his commissioners, with republicans, with democrats, with entrepreneurs, with our finance community to be able to build a future for Minnesota."Governor Pawlenty wants to make jobs a top priority in this legislative session.
