The hotels benefit, the restaurants and our whole economy."The Mankato Convention and Visitors Bureau is getting ready for a marathon in October, but when it was announce last Sunday that Mankato would host this tournament, it became a sprint to get things ready.Mankato Convention and Visitors Bureau's Anna Thill says, "Week's prior we kind of keep our eye on how things are going and how well the team is doing and hoping this type of thing comes to fruition, so we have plans in mind that when the trigger is pulled, we're ready to go."Thill says this tournament is a perfect example of how MSU's success brings success to the city. She estimates that the players alone will account for an 871-thousand dollar impact on the community. The fans could add even more. While Lougheed is still bitter the Mavericks didn't win the NSIC tourney, he will definitely take the second opportunity.Lougheed adds, "I'm a little greedy because I wanted both, but I'm ecstatic to have one."In Mankato, Erick Lind, News 12.
