Images recovered from a deleted file on
a cell phone have led to the arrest of two people suspected of
assault in Sherburne county.
WJON-am reports the story began March 17 when deputies were
called to the public access to Little Elk Lake about a woman who
was beaten with brass knuckles.
During the investigation, authorities determined a cell phone
with a video camera had recorded the attack, but the file had been
deleted.
A county forensic investigator was able to recover parts of the
video, which was then sent to the U.S. Secret Service which
restored the entire deleted file.
That video led to the arrest this week of an 18-year-old woman
from Zimmerman and a 20-year-old man from Elk River. They haven't
yet been formally charged.
