Over 40 skulls, Heaps of bones, fetus found in drug cartel den at Mexico

Four of these skulls were constructed to the altar at the middle Tepito area, where authorities detained 31 people on Tuesday on suspicion of drug cartel action, the city authorities said in an announcement. A judge ordered 27 of these suspects published.

On the best of the altar was a painted wall filled with symbols which comprised a pyramid topped with a hand, celestial bodies and also the mind of a goat having a hexagram between its horns, based on photographs of the area printed by the local press.

In the front of the wall stood several items, such as heaps of wooden rods with colored markings.

A spokeswoman for the attorney general’s office said police were investigating the provenance of their skulls, at least 42 of that was discovered.

Investigators also found knives, 40 jawbones, both the embryo as well as 30 arm or leg bones at the website, the office said. It wasn’t yet clear if the embryo was individual, ” the spokeswoman said.

Tepito, north of the capital’s historic center, has been known as a hotbed of illegal business activity.

The launch of the majority of the suspects detained in the raid on the warren of tunnels and suspected drug labs in Tepito has been regarded as a drawback to the government, that was struggling to have a grasp on chronic gang violence.
