Romania declares state of emergency over Covid-19 Epidemic

Romania’s President has announced a state of emergency in response to the expanding quantity of COVID-19 cases throughout the nation.

The recently announced decree will come into effect immediately and will continue for 30 days. In this period, all universities and schools will be shut.

President Klaus Iohannis stated said anybody within Romania’s boundaries who needs medical aid as a consequence of this Covid 19 disease, will make it at no cost.

Interim Prime Minister Ludovic Orban told a news conference that government members, in addition to some members of the National Liberal Party (PNL) will self-quarantine.

“We requested the health minister to swiftly make an epidemiological analysis mechanism for many of our colleagues. They will be analyzed. I’ll remain self-isolated in Villa Lac 1 at which I’ll continue to carry out my responsibilities,” Orban said.

Romania now has 168 coronavirus instances and no documented deaths up to now.
