Section of Leo Tolstoy’s’War & Peace’ leaves Russia for first time

For the very first time, also under tight security, a little portion of Leo Tolstoy’s lengthy epic narrative’ War And Peace’ has abandoned Russia.

It is widely regarded among the best books ever written on humanity’s different wants to battle and live together.

And only as Leo Tolstoy was a pacifist at the time that he came to compose it, therefore, was the primary protagonist in the publication, the exhibition’s manager explains.

He states quite clearly that the war can’t be compared at all into a game of chess, which warfare is an entirely dirty romance affair,” Jacques Bechtold said.

Tolstoy once dwelt in Geneva at a villa that’s currently employed by the United Nations.

Established after World War Two, the UN intends to promote peace by working with the world’s countries, multilaterally.

The display can also be marking the anniversary of multilateralism, which started in 1919 with a range of peace treaties and also the setup of the League of Nations after the First World War.

“For us, it is restoring the course previously, which we must work for peace, work on all levels, and the only chance now to work for peace is fresh multilateralism,” said Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office in Geneva.

The excerpt is on display in the Martin Bodmer Foundation at Geneva till March.
