Sharath Kamal-G Sathiyan storm to men’s doubles quarters of Asian Table Tennis

The Indian men’s doubles Set of G Sathiyan and Achanta Sharath Kamal Drifted in the quarterfinals of the 24th ITTF Asian Table Tennis Championships with an easy win over Mahfoodh Sayed Murtadha and Rashed Rashed of Bahrain in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on Thursday. The Indian duo conquers Murtadha and Rashed 11-8 11-6 11-3 at a lop-sided event. From the quarterfinals, Sathiyan and Sharath Kamal are going to probably be up against Chinese set of Liang Jingkun and Lin Gaoyuan.

Earlier in the afternoon following getting the first-round bye, the Indians got the better of Jordan’s Abo Yaman Zaid and Aldmaizy Zeyad 11-4 11-7 11-7 from the round of 32.

Harmeet and Amalraj fought tough before dropping 11-5 7-11 11-3 8-11 6-11 contrary to their accomplished Chinese competitions. It was curtains for India from the women’s doubles since the set of Manika Batra, and Archana Kamath and Madhurika Patkar and Sutirtha Mukherjee bowed outside the championship.

From the event, the pairs of Sharath Kamal-Manika and Sathiyan-Archana dropped in the round of 32.

In guys singles, Sharath Kamal, Sathiyan, Amalraj, Harmeet and Manav Thakkar had received first-round byes and enrolled 3-0 wins over their respective rivals in the round of 128. Just Harmeet dropped a match against Panagitgun Yanapang of Thailand before beating his rival 11-9 6-11 11-5 11-5. Each of the Indian men’s singles paddlers will perform with their round of 64 matches later in the afternoon.

In girls singles, Archana appreciated the arbitrary bye in the round of 128 while some needed to play their first-round games to go into the round of 64.
