The Minnesota Senior Games Coming to Mankato

Posted: Updated:

A new event for Mankato is beginning this Thursday, which began four years ago in Alexandria.

The Minnesota Senior Games brings in over 250 athletes from all over the state that are at least 50 years or older.

The event spans four days and encompasses 14 different events including track & field, cycling, and tennis.

Many of the events will be held at Minnesota State University and various other locations throughout Mankato.

Larissa Mrozek of the Greater Mankato Convention & Visitors Bureau says, "People can come up and just watch if they want to. It is a great spectator sport. These people are very active and are having a good time. It is free admission if people want to come up and check it out, they certainly can. We are also still looking for a few volunteers for some of our track & field and cycling events."
