Sammi Bjelland could not be happier about coming back to the Midwest.Sammi joins our team as the news anchor for the FOX Mankato News at Nine.
She grew up in central Iowa and traveled down south for college. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Broadcast Journalism, from Harding University.
While at Harding, Sammi had the opportunity to work with the campus news station, TV16. There she was able to produce, anchor, report and direct the live, nightly newscasts.While in school she interned in Des Moines, Iowa at WOI-TV, working with the morning show. She also interned with KTHV in Little Rock, Arkansas. During her Sophomore year she spent a semester studying abroad in London, where she got to travel to places like Ireland, Wales, Scotland and Greece. During her Junior year, Sammi was chosen to be in a small group of students to spend a week in Florence, Italy to report on the activities of the abroad students living there.
Sammi moved to Little Rock after graduation where she worked at KLRT FOX News as an associate producer. She loves spending time with her husband Jon and their kitten Timothy. She is new to Minnesota and very excited to explore and learn more about the area.
