In another high profile case. today is sentencing day for a New Jersey college student convicted for bias crimes that lead to his roommate's suicide.
In another high profile case. today is sentencing day for a New Jersey college student convicted for bias crimes that lead to his roommate's suicide.
Although she's no fan of the spotlight this week's well deserving Golden Apple recipient has devoted much of her life to what she's truly passionate about.
Special education teacher at Fairmont High School, Ann Hofstad feels more at home with her students than in front of the camera. She says she's very humbled and honored for receiving recognition of all of her hard work and dedication by preparing her students for their future.
Ann Hofstad says, "I really like taking the kids from where they are and getting them as far as they are able to go an seeing them transition to the world beyond high school." Every school day, Mrs. Hofstad commutes from St. James, and her colleagues say that she sets a good example for many of them to follow.
Darla Ross says, "She is well deserving of this award she works very hard and doing the best for these students and the extra time you will find her here long before the school day begins and here long after the day and many times on the weekends."
Striving to make a difference in her student lives everyday."Hofstad says, "I just want to keep coming back everyday to see how you can improve someone's life more."
