Gabby Budenski shares her love of reading with others as a volunteer at the New Ulm Public Library.
Gabby says, "I think knowledge is power. I really encourage my friends to read more, I think its good for you and keeps people out of trouble when they have something else going on after school."
A junior at New Ulm High School...Gabby has taken part in the Character Counts program there
Kris Wiley, with the New Ulm Public Library, says,"It encourages others to be better people and respect students and to make school life more enjoyable."
In these days of teen technology use, Assistant Library Director Kris Wiley says Gabby's volunteerism is writing a whole new chapter for the library...
Wiley says, "We haven't had a lot of teen volunteers so this is a great way to reach that part of our community."
And Gabby says through volunteering she has discovered some new career choices as she looks beyond high school.
