The Mankato Area Foundation has been serving our community since 1974, however in the last three years it has undergone quite a transition. Helping guide that change is Bryan Sowers, this week's Lisa's Light.
Bryan Sowers looks out from his office at U–S Bank and sees a community ripe with opportunity.Bryan Sowers says, "We all have the opportunity to help whether it's friends, family, your neighbors or the community in general."
Seeing an opportunity three years ago, Bryan joined the Board of the Mankato Area Foundation.
Bryan Sowers says, "We've gone from a community foundation that took its roots early on being a project–based foundation, to recent years really catching on to change focus, change ship to have more impact in the community..."
Bryan says he is happy he's found his match and encourages others to find theirs. Bryan Sowers says, "The key thing is understanding what you can do , we all have time and talents and some have treasures that play a bigger role. But any one of those three clearly provide a benefit for the community. And I always say if you're doing one of three that's the part that feels good. So I encourage others to try to do something because we all can." Making a difference in our community...Bryan Sowers, one of Lisa's Lights
